I found this recipe on a vegan site but decided to make it my own. Eventhough I am not vegan I still love making these as they are delicious and feel like a treat. Almost like a brownie or chocolate cake. They are great to make for kids too if you are avoiding sugar or trying to get them off it. Nevertheless, this is still a treat so bear that in mind!
I am a huge chocolate aficionado that sometimes struggles to stay away from it. My quest to look for a healthy alternative was fruitful as this feels like I am eating delicious coconut brownies. My favorite part about this recipe is that you can make different flavors according to your taste buds, you can leave out the coconut and make pure chocolate truffles by just adding more almonds. It is really up to you what you want the truffles to taste like – be creative, I am sure the result will be amazing!
I give these raw truffles and A++ (!) as they are great anytime of the day. Have no time to make breakfast? No problem, pop some in a ziplock and you are set to go. It is a great recipe to make ahead too as these truffles keep really well in the freezer too!
